Best Jeans for Tall Women

Best Jeans for Tall Women

There can be many benefits to being tall, but shopping for clothes just doesn’t seem to be one of them. As someone who is tall myself, 5’10 to be exact, it can be a challenge tracking down bottoms that are long enough and cater to my long lims

Many brands have come a long way in the past few years but styles and sizes are still quite limited. I’m sure production costs, demand and other factors play into designers not mass producing.

In the world of mens clothing where big and tall is easy to come across, why not the same for women?

Unlike with petite sizing, where inches can be chopping off from the hem we can not simply add fabric to our bottoms. See our dilemma here. Having tall sizing not only helps with length but also allows for better proportions like for long torsos or long legs.

I’ve put in the work over the years trying on just about every brand under the sun looking for the perfect fitting jean.

Today I’ve rounded up a list of a few brands that do it right and satisfy all my tall girl dreams.

Topshop

I know they say save the best for last but I just couldn’t help myself. Topshop is hands my absolute favorite brand of jeans. I love a more real denim(think Levis) feel as opposed to the whole stretchy denim thing but no worries if you’re not the same because Topshop carries both. Their tall inseam is 36’ which is very generous relative to other brands and they have a really body hugging fit perfect for my little thin daddy long legs. My favorite style of theirs is the Jamie, a high waisted skinny jean. I owe just about every color.

Something to make note, of their denim varies a bit even when in the same style. For example, my black Jamie denim is a bit stretchier than my blue jean Jamie denim. I am not quite sure why but just something to keep in mind.

Also, their size runs very small. For reference I am typically a US 2/4 and I wear a US 6 with them so I strongly recommend sizing up.

*Topshop merged with Asos fairly recently so plan to go to the Asos site and look for their Topshop tab.

Madewell

I cringe at the price tag of madewell’s jeans but I have to admit they are worth it. Their denim is not too stiff where you can’t move but not too stretchy where they wouldn’t suck you in. From what I’ve seen they are discontinuing some tall sizing which breaks my heart so I’m hesitate to try more pairs from them in fear of not being able to repurchase them in the future.

I’m between sizing in their denim which can be a little frustrating but I still love them and where them to death nonetheless.

Old Navy

I remember Old Navy being one of the first brands to carry tall bottoms for women before other brands started to get on board. In all honestly their denim isn’t my favorite but length wise and in terms of affordability they hit it out of the park. You kind of get what you pay for with certain denim brands and Old Navy can be hit or miss but recently they have been stepping up their game. Have you see the high rise straight leg jean that went viral. It looks so similar to Agolde which runs like $200! The tall version always seems to be out of stock when I try to purchase so if I ever end up getting my hands on them I’ll be sure to share on my Insta stories!

Abercrombie

Abercrombie is a new additional to my list of favorites. With their rebranding the company has really improved since their topless men and moose days. I find their jean pockets to be really flattering and they have a lot of styles to chose from.

American Eagle

I love my American eagle jeans so much I bought the same pair twice so I would never have to be without them when they are in the wash. Run don’t wait to get their mom jeans. I love that they are lightweight so I can even wear them during the warmer months and since they come in tall lengths the knee distressing actually cuts in the right spot.

There we have it, my top tall girl denim! I am always on the hunt for new styles so if you have a favorite drop it down in the comments.
